Tresp Law, APC is a San Diego County law firm founded by Elizabeth A. Tresp, JD, LL.M. The firm’s attorneys handle estate planning, trust administration, probate administration, and trust and estate litigation, from offices in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, San Diego and Kemmerer, Wyoming.

Philanthropy and volunteerism

Staying involved in her community is important to Elizabeth, which is why you can find her volunteering at her children’s schools and donating her time to local non-profits, including her own 501(c)(3) non-profits, the Tresp Family Arts Foundation and the Tresp Conservation Trust. She is Vice President of the board of directors at her local theater, North Coast Repertory Theatre.

Elizabeth consistently volunteers her time in the community, such as classroom volunteering through the Solana Beach Schools Foundation. She is also a member of The Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund and the Lawyers Club of San Diego, and she sponsors both the Solana Beach Little League team and the Solana Beach Soccer Club. Elizabeth A. Tresp, JD, LL.M.

Principal Attorney & Founder

Principal Attorney and founder. Elizabeth earned her BA at Middlesex University in London in 1999 and completed her Juris Doctor and Master of Laws at the University of San Diego School of Law. She is a member of The State Bar of California (Bar Number 290339), the Wyoming State Bar (Bar Number 8-7161), the State Bar of Montana (Bar Number 14059), the San Diego County Bar Association, Probate Attorneys of San Diego and the American Bar Association, and she practices before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court, Southern District of California.

Abraham A. Ames, Esq.

Partner

Partner. Abraham earned his B.S. at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2002 in Management Information Systems and Accounting, graduating Summa cum laude and Valedictorian in both majors, and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of San Diego School of Law with a concentration in Business & Corporate Law. He uses his accounting background to guide families through trust administration and probate. Member, The State Bar of California (Bar Number 312385).

James J. White, Esq.

Of Counsel

Of Counsel. Born and raised in El Cajon, James studied Philosophy with a specialization in Ethics, Law and Justice at Seattle University and earned his law degree at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he was on the National Mock Trial Team. He brings a broad litigation and dispute-resolution background to trust, will and estate proceedings. Member, State Bar of California (Bar Number 308094).

Tony Gaston, Esq.

Of Counsel

Of Counsel. Tony brings over four decades of legal experience to planning, transactional and civil litigation work for domestic and international clients. He earned his Bachelor of Science from California State Polytechnic University in 1968 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1973, and has been a member of the California State Bar since 1973. He is admitted before the U.S. Tax Court, the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Alexander Nunez, Esq.

Senior Litigation Associate

Senior Litigation Associate. Alexander is a member of the State Bar of California (Bar Number 236488) and originally joined the firm on February 10, 2020. He practices in the firm’s litigation department, handling trust and probate litigation in the probate departments of the California Superior Court.

Associate Planning Attorney

Associate Planning Attorney. Emma graduated from Boston University in 2015 with a B.S. in Sociology, earned an MBA from UMass Amherst in 2018 and her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 2023, and was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2023 (SBN 351789). She focuses on estate planning.
